There are several parables in our society wherein the underlying theme is to “never judge a book by its cover”. Netphiles thinks these are great words to live by, as it engenders open-mindedness and cuts through our proclivity to judge things on appearance alone. This is a fine, high-minded philosophy that I whole-heartedly encourage people to aspire to, but when it comes to practical application from a consumerist perspective, no amount of good will is going to change people’s behavior. Folks just don’t have the time!

I’m not saying that consumers are bad people; it’s just that they are so darn busy. They have needs, and a small amount of time to meet them in the course of their day. So, when they dive into the ocean of commercial solutions for those needs and are deluged by a flood of choices, they have to make a decision. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to do detailed analysis on where to buy a coffee and bagel between home and work. It’s sad, but for the uninitiated, your scrappy little business isn’t going to be judged on the quality of its products; it’s going to be judged on what it is wearing and how pretty its face is. Shallow, I know, but hey - we all have to shave and iron our shirts before we go to work, right?

Netphiles understands that in order to be competitive, a company needs to dress the part, and it all begins with a professional company logo. Logos are symbols, and symbols are incredibly powerful identifiers. People learn to identify shapes and symbols before learning to read. I won’t bore you with a dissertation on the philosophies of structuralism and aestheticism, but there is wisdom to be gleaned from it. In short: Your brand/ logo IS your company. It’s the name expressed visually to customers, and implies the character and quality of your company and its products.

It is important to design a logo professionally as well. Some owners like to think that they can do everything themselves, but the reality is that unless you are schooled in design, and know how to visually emulate intangible concepts, you could do more damage than good. People have an intuitive grasp of the visual; if they see something that is off- it will turn them off. Netphiles is staffed with dedicated artists who are well versed in pulling inspired artifacts out of the ether. It’s really easy! We just chat with you about yourself, your business, what values and character you want to instill in your company, and then we produce a logo that reflects those things.

Give Netphiles a call today, and we will show you how to put your company’s best face forward.
